Yodle has become one of the fastest-growing businesses in the country by building and optimizing websites for small enterprises—from locksmiths to law firms—that are stymied by the intricacies and costs of marketing on the Web.

The company makes sure clients’ names turn up on search engines, and offers them the technology to track traffic and e-mails driven to their sites.

Founded in 2005, Yodle now has 450 employees and operates in 40 cities in the United States. Revenues topped $60 million last year, compared with $758,000 in 2006. The company ranked 35th nationally and No. 1 in New York on Inc. magazine’s 2010 list of fastest-growing companies.

Mr. Cunningham, 42, who joined as CEO in 2007, is Yodle’s No. 11 employee
