Rogers Communications, One of Canada’s Leading Communications Companies, to Deliver Yodle’s Innovative Marketing Platform and Products to SMBs Across Canada
New York, NY - January 18, 2012 - Yodle, a leader in local online marketing, announced today an exclusive agreement with Rogers Communications, where Rogers will offer Yodle’s local online marketing services to small and medium-sized businesses in Canada. Rogers is Canada’s largest provider of wireless voice and data communications services and one of Canada’s leading providers of cable television, high-speed Internet and telephony services.
Yodle currently provides websites, paid search marketing, search engine optimization and display advertising to nearly 28,000 local businesses in the U.S. Starting in 2012, small and medium-sized businesses in Canada will have access to Yodle’s online marketing services through Rogers. This alliance marks Yodle’s first foray into international markets.
“Out of more than 2 million small and medium businesses in Canada, less than 45% have websites,” said Yodle CEO Court Cunningham. “Through our alliance with Rogers, we will quickly change that by making it easy for business owners, from Halifax to Vancouver, to attract local customers with a simple and cost-effective solution.”
Through a software and platform licensing agreement, Yodle will accelerate the innovation and development of its platform, deepening existing features like mobile and social marketing services for small and medium-sized businesses across North America. Rogers ultimately selected Yodle in large part due to their expertise and track-record across sales, service, technology, product and marketing. Yodle has promoted Milind Mehere to General Manager to operate the Canadian business and to oversee the alliance.
“Maintaining a strong online presence is crucial to success for small and medium businesses in Canada,” said Melinda Rogers, SVP Strategy and Development, Rogers Communications. “We are thrilled to announce that we will be bringing Yodle’s expertise in local and online marketing to Canadian businesses in 2012.”
