Overview
Yodle, a leading provider local search advertising and online lead generation services to small businesses continues to grow and we are actively looking to hire a Research Engineer based out of our New York City office.

In this highly critical role, the ideal candidate must be able to brainstorm technical approaches and convert ideas into practical solutions. The successful candidate must also demonstrate the ability to prototype and test statistical models, leverage ideas from statistics, machine learning, data mining, and optimization theory.

In addition, the qualified research engineer must have a firm grounding in mathematics, statistics, computer science, optimization, operations research, or related quantitative fields. In addition, thorough experience in the analysis of large dataset is crucial for improving
the current optimization platform. Domain knowledge of search engine
marketing is also helpful.

Responsibilities
• Use data mining and statistical software to analyze data and form hypothesis and test these hypothesis.
• Research and evaluate algorithmic approaches to sponsored search marketing (Bid & Performance).
• Implement results of research in new software in an efficient and scaleable manner.
• Must have demonstrated experience analyzing real world data.
• Experience working with the following tools to facilitate statistical analysis:

• Statistics software: R, SAS, SPSS.
• Engineering software: Matlab, Octave, etc
• Scientific and numerical programming: C/C++, Java.
• Data scripting languages: Perl, Python, Ruby, etc
• Relational database interface: MySQL, PostgreSQL.
